NEW Theme for 2018 – Taking the Lead: Collaborating to Solve National Cyber Security Problems – Building partnerships and balancing competition and information sharing for improved security. The theme is designed to highlight our regions innovations and accomplishments to provide thought leadership on collaborative initiative.
The North American International Cyber Summit 2018 hosted by Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, is once again set to take place in the heart of Downtown Detroit at Cobo Center. This event in its seventh year will bring together experts from across the globe to address a variety of cyber-security issues impacting the world. The Summit is scheduled for Monday, October 29, 2018 with an invitation-only Governor’s reception taking place the evening of Sunday, October 28, 2018.
The State of Michigan has long been considered a national leader on cyber security, leading the discussion on emerging trends and best practices in policy, law and all manner of public and private interests. The agenda for the event will showcase internationally recognized speakers as well as experts from around the country to lead featured breakout sessions on the following featured industry topics:
- Information Technology
- Economic Development
- Law Enforcement
- Federal, State and Local Units of Government
- International Cyber Exercise
The 3rd Annual Governor’s High School Cyber Challenge finals will take place at the Summit. The event will challenge high school students’ skills in computer science, information technology and cybersecurity in a two round statewide competition. The final competition and award presentation will take place at the Summit on Monday, October 29, 2018.
